Who is Jackson?

Welcome to my travel blog!

Name’s Jackson, I’m a aspiring backpacker who wish to travel and find, what’s out there! Just realized life is more than 40+ hours of work every week. Its all about meeting new people and experiencing cultures. I wish to explore and learn as much as I can through my travel journals. Though I might travel only 2 or 3 tops every year, I wish to make those moments memorable.

My Background

I have lived and worked in India, Saudi Arabia and have visited Dubai as my first holiday destination. Sri Lanka was the first destination that I travelled solo.

Having no wealthy background I have worked and walked all the rough paths enjoying the moments what life has lead me to. The journey begin when I started my first hiking with a group of friends, the experience of camping and running behind the bush with a bad stomach and a bucket of water was the best part.

A bit socially awkward but hey!! travelling is the best way to change it! right?

My Philosophy

I don’t want to spend my savings after my retirement but rather live the moment, live now, live today.

After reading a lot of blogs I feel backpacking is celebration of life, travelling non stop always on the move, its a process of knowing yourself.

Your Turn Now

I would love to have you join me on my upcoming journey (in a manner of speaking) by clicking the “Follow and Like” button.

In my future posts, I will be sharing some of my learnings as I travel to different places.

I wanna leave you guys with this thought by Rosalia de Castro – “I see my path, but I don’t know where it leads. Not knowing where I’m going is what inspires me to travel it.”

Keep Travelling, Keep Learning
Happy Travels!

  1. Good find! Looking forward to read more of your entries.

Me too I am not from a wealthy family and always working hard, saving money to travel with my own hands (or pocket to be exact)! Respect people like you. I heard about the visa application process.. such a drag but awesome you have a positive perspective. 🙂

    • Thank you so much for stopping by! I enjoyed reading your blog last night.
That’s right.. you work hard, save some money just to travel and see what the world has to offer.. It’s beautiful.. Thank you so much for your kind words! 🙂

  2. Jackson, count us in! We have the very same philosophy about money and retirement! We too think we should enjoy the now rather than saving to experience it when we are older when who knows how healthy we will be and whether we can even do it! Love the attitude – we are joining your adventures!!

  3. Thank you for following our blog. Through our photography and words we hope to inspire others to get out and see the world. And perhaps through those travels the world will become a smaller and less threatening place as we discover the many kindred spirits who share our own hopes and aspirations. As Mark Twain said, “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness.”

It’s never too early or late to discover and follow your heart. Make time for the people, causes or work you truly care about. Cheers, Wooly and Raeski.

  4. Hey there Jackson! Thanks for finding me and I really love your blog! I think you may have started your blog about the same time I started mine – April this year. I look forward to reading about your solo adventures and any tips you can offer me. Happy and safe travels!

    Wendy 🙂

  8. Hello…

I was recently ‘told off’ by a blogger (not a follower I might add), who said my style of ‘welcome’ note was very much against blogging etiquette. Hmm, well I hope not to cause offence, but as you volunteered to become a follower of Uncle Spike’s Adventures, I just wanted to catch up and say “thank you, and that I appreciate your ‘follow’ as there are so many interesting and entertaining blogs out there.

Blogging since June 2013, my aim is to deliver an eclectic offering of posts, from my ‘point n shoot’ attempts at basic photography, to the sharing of my travel adventures over the decades, as well as day to day happenings here on our farm in Turkey. Oh, plus a few observations, opinions and lighter-hearted stuff thrown in for good measure.

I normally keep to a couple of posts a day, maybe 3-4 at weekends if I have something special to share. But if you are at a loose end one day, maybe you’ll enjoy trawling through some of my older stuff too. I have added plenty of categories to help in said digging process. That’s not me trying to be pushy or ‘spamming’, but just want you to know what I’m all about.

Thanks again and hope you have a great day…
